Dear friends in Christ,
Peace, joy and blessings be with you all! I hope you are all enjoying your summer. I am delighted to announce to that
St. Mary's Anglican Church Maxwell will be resuming its annual Summer gathering for worship on Sunday Augutst 28th at
2.30pm, with a Holy Eucharist Service! So please mark this on your calendars as I am eagerly looking forward to welcoming
you back to a very special House of Worship that holds many wonderful memories for all of you!
Now, since the last time we gathered as a worshipping body at St. Mary's, indeed, a lot has changed! Covid forced us to
cancel our annual service for the last two years and we also had to big a very sad farewell to one of our beloved trustees,
and sisters-in-Christ, June Tyler! So in many ways, when we come to gather at St. Mary's later this Summer, things may feel
a little different for you - we will be strongly encouraging that you wear Covid masks as we know that we are not done
yet with Covid, and there will be people that would ordinarily look forward to seeing at the service that will not be there!
In addition, usually we would gather after the service for a reception, but it had been determined by the leadership team,
that largely because of Covid, we will unfortunately not be offering a luncheon this year! Such is life, as we all have come to know!
However, the heart of our faith teaches that we are a resurrection people! We know that life goes on, albeit, in different
forms and so does our worship as we continue to come and render out thanks for all that St. Mary's means to us and
for all the people who have borne witness to the love of God there and have passed down their faith and the upkeep
of St. Mary's to us! A lot of maintenance work on the building and grounds, for instance, has continued to go on in our
absence and we give special thanks to Wayne and Debbie Wright for continuing to look after the grounds again this
year for us!
Much of this work, of course, continues able to be done because of your very generous memorial donations, and for those
wishing to make a memorial contribution this year for the continual upkeep of both our property and out building, we
ask that you make your cheques out to St. Mary's Anglican Church and in the memo line, to write
"Memorial Donations". Please mail your cheques to:
Christ Church Anglican Markdale
70 Toronto St. South
P.O. Box 238
N0C 1H0
Official receipts for Income Tax Purposes will be mailed out to you in early 2023!
Again, dear friends in Christ, as Rector of Christ Church Anglican Markdale with St. Mary's Chapel-of-Ease, Maxwell, I look
forward to welcoming you warmly back to St.Mary's, for what I am sure will be a very poignant and special time
for worship for all who are able to attend! Your continual presence, witness, and ongoing regard for St. Mary's and
all that it means for you is deeply impressive and inspiring to me and I thank each of you and continue to hold you in my prayers
for your involvement with St. Mary's Anglican Church, Maxwell. God bless each of you!
Yours in Christ Jesus
